Hoping for a better day

Hey I think I'm getting the hang of this now. I have managed to work out how to upload photos and get them more or less where I want them. And today I worked out how to grab Kerry's banner for her Blog Hop next week :D

I am in the middle of making a couple of cards using her Winestool Nikki and Shopping Ruby Stamps, I will post them when I get them finished.

Took the girls to Mandors on Monday to get fabric for their Halloween costumes, I think I got off lightly this year - Queen Titania and Peasblossom from A Midsummers Night Dream - so no paper mache or paint!!

I thought I would give you some pics of previous years efforts so you can get an idea of some of the challenges they have set me in the past. Sorry about the sideways photos, they were right way up on my photolist!

A traditional vampire!

The dining room was out of use for a week while I painted these wings!!!

Happinny - a Pokemon character

Banette - a Pokemon character

Mumble from Happy Feet - she loves penguins

A character from Winx - a cartoon they used to watch.

Cornelia from W.I.T.C.H (another favourite cartoon of the time)

I also did Mike from Monsters Inc one year but can't find the photos!!

What a day!!!!

Every have one of those days where you feel like you are chasing your tail all day? Well that was me today!!
Got up at 6.30 to the pouring rain, it was so dark I thought I had missread the clock, but no it was right. Dived into the shower, woke the kids, made packed lunches, shouted on Debbie again, made breakfast, shouted on Debbie AGAIN (that kid really likes her bed, if only she would go to sleep at night I might not have this carry on!!!) Left for work at 8.15.
The first hour at work was nice and sedate - it was the calm before the storm - from about 10 o'clock onwards it was all go (but not always in a good way). Got the cahce to go for lunch at 3.30 but as I finish at 4 I didn't bother. Ate lunch on the way home, got in at 5, changed int guiders uniform and left the house again at 5.15 to go to Brownies.
Got home from Brownies at 7.30, checked Debbies homework, helped Becky revise for her maths test tomorrow (her least favourite subject) and I am currently waiting for my dinner to cook.

Sorry for the long rant. Wednesdays are always a bit hectic but today seemed worse than normal. Any way here are pics of a card I made a while ago for my husband.

It is a secret panel card that I made for valentines day.

Well I better go and eat dinner before it gets cold - I might just be finished in time to catch Ugly Betty on E4+1.

Help!!!!

I feel so out of touch! There was me thinking I knew what I was doing on the computer but I have changed my mind. I am still trying to work out how to attach links/ banners/etc to my blog - when I look up the help menu I am still lost - is there a blogging for dummies book out there? If anyone can help it would be most appreciated.

Anyway todays difficult task (apart from the housework) is trying to upload some photos of cards I have made. I keep forgetting to photograph my cards before I send them but I do have pics of one or two on the PC so I will give it a go!

Well that one didn't end up where I expected but I guess practice makes perfect. This was a birthday card I made for my dad a couple of years ago, like most of you out there I find mens cards a nightmare!

Neither did that one, I think you can tell by the gaps where I wanted them to be but at least they are on the screen!

I will try again after a coffee maybe that will fire up my brain and I will be able to work out what I'm doing!

See you later

P.S. Came back after a coffee and reading something on Kerrys blog and Hey Presto! I managed to put them where I wanted them. Why don't you check out Kerrys Blog Hop starting next week - http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2qAk3zUDJCI/TI4DKliTuXI/AAAAAAAACx8/F2Y1vvTMFlc/s400/blog+hop+banner.jpg

First Post!

Hi everyone,
This is the first post in my blog. I have been meaning to do this for ages to let me share my crafty creations with others.

I make cards, sew, embrioder, knit, and do beadwork. I have even had a go at scrapbooking. I love anything crafty and creative and would quite happily abondon housework in favour of playing with glitter and glue.

I will try to keep everyone updated on my life but I'm not promising a post every day - some days are just too boring for comment!

Please bear with me as I try to work out how to upload photos, etc. In the meantime check out this little blog hop by a lovely lady I met recently at the CraftWorld Demo Day - she does some fab stamps!

Her cards are gorgeous and I would love to be this good.

See you soon
