Wednesday, 6 October 2010
It all started last Friday. It was just another working day, or at least it was til lunchtime when one of the girls said she wasn't feeling well, had phoned her GP and was to go straight up to the hospital. We all thought she would be back in a couple of hours. At 4ish got a message to say she wouldn't be back in and she would let us know about Saturday. The computers had been acting up all day and then wouldn't let us in to any patient records - called IT to get them to fix it. They had to pull the database, which ment we couldn't access records, process dispenses, order lenses or do the banking!! At 5.45 they advised us to leave it til Saturday morning because it was taking longer than they thought!
On Saturday It finally advised the system was working again about 9.45, so we finally managed to finish off all the jobs from Friday and do the banking. All so found out that the girl wouldn't be in on Saturday and finally found out at 4.30 that she wouldn't be in on Monday - so I got drafted in to cover Monday (bang go my plans for a trip to town!) Was so tired I was in bed and asleep before 10 (that's unheard of!).
On Sunday was up bright and early and off to Sunday school - so far so good. Put the first load of washing on. 10 minutes later when I went into the kitchen the machine had stopped - thought I had had a senior moment so switched it on again while I made a coffee. 2 and a half minutes later the machine stopped and claimed it had done the whole cycle!! So all I had was a load of wet, dirty washing and 2 loads sitting waiting! My Mum in law very kindly washed 2 of them for me.
Monday was spent working, without even time to look for a washing machine, so trawled the internet when I came home. Found the machine I wanted at a price I thought was reasonable but website wouldn't let me order it!!!
Tuesday was spent catching up all the things I should have done on Sunday and Monday. First stop the hygeinist (something I really hate), then into town to get Brownie things at the Guide shop and get a birthday present for Linda in work. Managed to find a the washing machine and ordered it (it gets delivered next Thursday!). Made tabards for Fionas wheelchair dancing group. Took a load of washing up to my dads. Made dinner. Went to Community Council meeting (it was the AGM and as secretary I had to go to take minutes - but finally convinced them I am standing down). Finally got home at 9.45pm. It was one of those hectic, never-ending days and I' glad its over.
Today was a little better. Work was going OK til head office pulled a member of staff to cover Greenock, then it got busy and we hardly stopped all day. Finally got out of work just after 4.30 and made my train by the skin of my teeth. Made it to Brownies for 5.30 (though not sure how) for the promise ceremony. Now trying to type this while eating sausage sandwiches for tea - I know it's not healthy but at this time of night I couldn't be bothered cooking anything else.
Well that's been my week, I hope yours has been better,
See you later
P.S. Will try to put some more pics of cards up tomorrow - too tired tonight

I am in the middle of making a couple of cards using her Winestool Nikki and Shopping Ruby Stamps, I will post them when I get them finished.
Took the girls to Mandors on Monday to get fabric for their Halloween costumes, I think I got off lightly this year - Queen Titania and Peasblossom from A Midsummers Night Dream - so no paper mache or paint!!
I thought I would give you some pics of previous years efforts so you can get an idea of some of the challenges they have set me in the past. Sorry about the sideways photos, they were right way up on my photolist!
A traditional vampire!
The dining room was out of use for a week while I painted these wings!!!
Happinny - a Pokemon character
Banette - a Pokemon character
Mumble from Happy Feet - she loves penguins
A character from Winx - a cartoon they used to watch.

Got up at 6.30 to the pouring rain, it was so dark I thought I had missread the clock, but no it was right. Dived into the shower, woke the kids, made packed lunches, shouted on Debbie again, made breakfast, shouted on Debbie AGAIN (that kid really likes her bed, if only she would go to sleep at night I might not have this carry on!!!) Left for work at 8.15.
The first hour at work was nice and sedate - it was the calm before the storm - from about 10 o'clock onwards it was all go (but not always in a good way). Got the cahce to go for lunch at 3.30 but as I finish at 4 I didn't bother. Ate lunch on the way home, got in at 5, changed int guiders uniform and left the house again at 5.15 to go to Brownies.
Got home from Brownies at 7.30, checked Debbies homework, helped Becky revise for her maths test tomorrow (her least favourite subject) and I am currently waiting for my dinner to cook.
Sorry for the long rant. Wednesdays are always a bit hectic but today seemed worse than normal. Any way here are pics of a card I made a while ago for my husband.
It is a secret panel card that I made for valentines day.
Well I better go and eat dinner before it gets cold - I might just be finished in time to catch Ugly Betty on E4+1.
see you later

Anyway todays difficult task (apart from the housework) is trying to upload some photos of cards I have made. I keep forgetting to photograph my cards before I send them but I do have pics of one or two on the PC so I will give it a go!
Well that one didn't end up where I expected but I guess practice makes perfect. This was a birthday card I made for my dad a couple of years ago, like most of you out there I find mens cards a nightmare!
Neither did that one, I think you can tell by the gaps where I wanted them to be but at least they are on the screen!I will try again after a coffee maybe that will fire up my brain and I will be able to work out what I'm doing!
See you later
P.S. Came back after a coffee and reading something on Kerrys blog and Hey Presto! I managed to put them where I wanted them. Why don't you check out Kerrys Blog Hop starting next week - http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2qAk3zUDJCI/TI4DKliTuXI/AAAAAAAACx8/F2Y1vvTMFlc/s400/blog+hop+banner.jpg

This is the first post in my blog. I have been meaning to do this for ages to let me share my crafty creations with others.
I make cards, sew, embrioder, knit, and do beadwork. I have even had a go at scrapbooking. I love anything crafty and creative and would quite happily abondon housework in favour of playing with glitter and glue.
I will try to keep everyone updated on my life but I'm not promising a post every day - some days are just too boring for comment!
Please bear with me as I try to work out how to upload photos, etc. In the meantime check out this little blog hop by a lovely lady I met recently at the CraftWorld Demo Day - she does some fab stamps!
Her cards are gorgeous and I would love to be this good.
See you soon
